Visitors came and enjoyed their tours around the newly renovated facility.Pastor David Philips of River of Life Church and Fresh Start’s Executive Director shared brief words during the the ceremony. Fresh Start attended the Catfish Festival in Winnsboro, La. This year they had crosses and birdhouses hand crafted by the students.

Hello to all! We’ve had a pretty busy season so far this year, please stay tuned in because things are about to pick up even more!!! The 2nd Annual Awards Banquet is right around the corner which will be Saturday July 23rd and we are looking forward to bigger and better things this year. Also the Spring Celebration 2011 video is almost done and ready for viewing!

Fresh Start Ministry was one of the 11 vendors at the LMPOA Roundup Conference 2011 held in Bossier City, La. at Diamond Jacks Casino & Resort.  LMPOA stands for Louisiana Misdemeanor Probation Officers Association. Classes and sessions are held throughout the day with different speakers talking on a wide range of subjects that are beneficial to the officers. Fresh Start is here to offer services for their clients that need a new way of life.

Fresh Start will be at Diamond Jacks Casino & Resort today and tomorrow for the 3rd Annual Probation Conference!

Fresh Start participated in the 1st Quarter 2011 Criminal Justice Forum at Richwood Correctional Center in Monroe, La. Director Clay Russell was there to give them insight about Fresh Start and to answer any questions that they had concerning the program. Fresh Start fell in the category of Re-Entry for those that were interested in giving that option to their clients as help after incarceration or as a substitution. There were Probation & Parole Officers, Judges, DA’s, and Warden’s from all around Northern Louisiana present for this forum.

We had a great time at the Spring Celebration!!! We had the chance to catch up on old times and enjoy the fellowship! The new graduates had the opportunity to fellowship with past graduates and alumni from Fresh Start. Some of the past graduates came alone, but some also came with their whole family which was a great experience!!! GOD IS GOOD!
